I am looking into buying a puggle from a breeder. Are there specific things I should make sure to ask the breeder before putting down a deposit? The breeder I am looking at is found at www.pugglebaby.com. Has anybody purchased a puppy from them? Any advise would be great! Thanks! Laura

Hi Laura PuggleBaby was a forum consultant here at Puggle Nation for a time and is listed on our Puggle Breeder list. While here, shared lots of knowledge about breeding their puggles. Here's a partial list of questions to ask: No matter what breeder you find, ask as many questions as you can about their program so that you feel comfortable and have a feel for who you're dealing with. 1. How are the pups raised - ask for details 2. Where are the pups raised (if raised in a kennel, how much human contact do they have?) 3. Information about the parents (are they purebred? If so, are they registered and what clubs so you can verify). Registered parents will also give you a family history and lineage. 4. Are the parents on site - if not, ask why. Studs are used but the mother should be there. Ask to see the parents. Do they look healthy and happy? 5. What is included in the price of the pup? 6. Do they allow visitors? Some breeders won't let you into their nursery due to any illness you may bring in on your clothing or person. A protective breeder isn't a bad one but be careful of those that don't have any visitation rules established. 7. Ask for photos of the environment your pup is raised in if you're not visiting in person. 8. Will the breeder provide support after you go home? 9. At what age will the breeder release the pup and why? 10. Will the breeder provide references? If their clients are happy, they'd love to share their experience with you. 11. Anything else you can think of to feel comfortable. Taken from Kentucky Puggles post on Puggle Nation How to find a reputable breeder
