i have a puggle that is black with tan points. My question is how do you get this color i see that it is very rare. secondly i find it is only females that i see for sale with these markings, is it a sexlinked trait? I plan on breeding my lil'girl in the future and would like to produce more black with tan point pups. What would be the best type of male to mate her with to get the black and tan point pups?

From my post Colors of PugglesThe true Puggle, First generation (F1) puggle or more common color is fawn, tan or black when their mother is a beagle and the father is a pug. Second generation (F2) puggles are created when the mother and father are both Puggles. These Puggles generally have more mixed colors, such as black and white, brown and black, and brown and black and white. If your Lunah is pup in the photo, she's most likely a second generation puggle. Maybe one of our breeders can shed some light on what the puppies would look like if you bred her with a tan puggle or a beagle or even another second generation tan and black puggle.
