A dog is considered an adult at 12 months old. Therefore, after a year and maybe a couple of months they are full size and will stop growing. Toy breeds (pug) are full grown in 5-7 months. The beagle reaches his adult size by about 1 year old. So for puggles, they stop growing between 9 months to a year. By the second year, there may still be some bone growth and he'll definitely fill out by then. This refers to building muscle; "bulking up" (the chest may seem to become broader). The only thing you can do is measure her. To determine your dog’s size, measure your dog’s girth (around the widest part of his chest, a couple of inches behind his front legs - see diagram below). The link you provided isn't invalid, is this the one?: EASY-WALK-FRONT-CLIP-NO-PULL-DOG-HARNESSIf this is the correct one, Dagger has one just like it that I bought shortly before he turned a year old and he's still wearing it.

That's the one! Maybe I'll just go ahead with it! Her girth is 17 in. Thanks!

Oh I should mention this. I ordered my Easy Walk Harness from PetExpertise.com. Shortly after it arrived, I received this email:
And yes, as luck would have it Dagger wiggled right out of the harness on me a couple of times. So now I always hook the leash to the collar and the harness.

I'm curious to know the comparison between what they weighed as puppies compared to what they weighed full grown. I thought I read somewhere that you can triple their weight at 9 weeks or double it at 12 weeks to get their adult weight. So I was just wondering if it rang true with any of you and also about how big Ava will get. She weighed 4 lb at 9 weeks and she is not 12 weeks quite yet but she weighed 5.6 lb at the vet at 11 weeks. I am curious, too. It seems like that might be more accurate than using the parents as a guide, since grandparents, great-grandparents, etc., come into play in the overall size. Judging size/growth on the puppy itself seems like it would be more accurate...kind-of like they do for 2-legged kids (calculator). Pediatricians say you can double a child's height at 2yrs old to determine adult height...it worked on both my 2-legged kids! Eve is 4.5 months old and weighs 14#...she is 'SUPPOSED' to be around 20-25# as an adult. We'll see...... Edit* I just found Eve's weight record...very interesting. You said you heard that if you tripled the weight at 9 weeks OR doubled the weight at 12 weeks, it would be the weight at adulthood. Well, Eve was 6# at 9 weeks and 9# at 12 weeks...BOTH formulas would make her 18# as an adult! How very interesting! There may be some truth in that formula! I can't "weight" to see what her adult weight is! LOL Reason for Editing: No Double Posting, modify your previous post

I would say my Tucker is a little larger than average. He is not fat but at almost 5 months he is already 15 lbs. well now probably 14 because he just got neutered. I'm sure he will still grow.

That would be interesting to see. Lucy was 5.5 at 11 wks. I don't know what she was at 9 since we didn't have her yet. Although hers might not work because of the Parvo she had early on.

I was just checking because I am definitely curious about size too, at 9 weeks Seamus was 9.5 and to at 14 weeks he was 16.5lbs! I seem to have a very large puggle on my hands but I kinda figured that when I saw his paws I'll have to poset some of the new pics I have of him. I figuring he's ending upin the high 20's-low 30's we'll see! ;D

Kolchak is 15 months old and is a 22.4 lbs of rock solid muscle covered with about 2 lbs of extra skin (he has a very puggy neck. This is the same as his weight at 9 mo. so the vet thinks he is all done. I can't imagine if her weight another 15 lbs or so - some o your puggle sound huge to me!

I'd have to agree with the 9-12 months when they stop growing. I read my post from when Benson was 10 months and weighed 26lbs. well he is now 16months and weighs the same!
